WE HAVEN'T RECEIVED MUCH FEEDBACK FROM THE COMMUNITY ITSELF, OTHER THAN ONE LETTER OF SUPPORT FROM THE MAYOR OF LAKE JACKSON, WHICH IS WHICH HE HAS HAD SOME EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PARTICULAR APPLICANT IN THE CITY OF LAKE JACKSON.
SO HE GAVE US SOME POSITIVE FEEDBACK IN TERMS OF THEIR REPUTATION.
WE HAVE, OF COURSE, SINCE WE FIRST POSTED THE AGENDA, I WANTED TO MAKE IT KNOWN THAT THERE WERE SOME THINGS THAT I HAD DISCUSSED WITH THE CHAIRMAN AS WE WERE LOOKING AT THE AGENDA AND WE WANTED TO GIVE YOU AN OPPORTUNITY TO PUT SOME LEVEL OF RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE IF IT WERE POSITIVELY RECOMMENDED TO COUNCIL, SUCH AS HOURS OF OPERATION TEND TO BE A CONCERN FOR SOME OF THE SPECIFIC USES AND THAT'S WHY THEY'RE THERE.
AND OTHER THINGS WE LIKE TO LOOK AT IS THE PROPERTY ARRANGEMENT OF WHETHER OR NOT IT'S A LEASE.
SO THE LONG TERM, THE LONG TERM DURATION OF USE IS SOMETIMES A CONCERN BECAUSE SOMETIMES PEOPLE MOVE IN AND OUT SO WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE SOME RESTRICTIONS THAT WOULD PROTECT THE CITY JUST IN CASE THE USE WERE TO GO IN AND CAUSE THINGS SUCH AS NUISANCES OR CONCERNS FROM THE ENFORCEMENT STANDPOINT, OR THEY MAY BE VIOLATE SOME OF THE RESTRICTIONS OF THE CODE.
SO THIS GIVES US SOME LEVEL OF INSPECTION.
NUMBER ONE, SOME LEVEL OF UPDATE TO THE COUNCIL IS HOW THE SPECIFIC USE IS OPERATING.
SO THOSE ADDED CONDITIONS, ONE THROUGH FIVE WOULD ADDRESS SOME OF THOSE ISSUES AND HOLD THE APPLICANT TO SOME RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE US OTHER AGENCIES SUCH AS THE STATE REQUIREMENTS THAT I MENTIONED.
SO AT 117 WEST MYRTLE, WE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO SIT DOWN WITH THEM AND GO OVER THEIR THEIR PLAN AND HOW THEY PLAN TO OPERATE.
