    I BUILT A INTERNATIONAL AVIATION COMPANY FROM SCRATCH THAT WE WERE OUT OF HAVI AIRPORT.

    NOT JUST ANY AVIATION COMPANY AS AN AVIATION COMPANY IS A JOB CREATOR, IT'S A GREAT SOURCE TO THE COMMUNITY.

    IN REGARDS TO THE PORT, I JUST WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND THAT AN AIRPORT AND A SEAPORT ARE VERY SIMILAR.

    I'M A PERSONAL TRAINER AND A FITNESS INSTRUCTOR AND A NUTRITIONIST, AND I TEACH A CLASS AT THE REC CENTER.

    MY OBJECTIVE OF CONCERN TONIGHT WAS I GET FEEDBACK FROM MY CLASSES ABOUT HOW THEY CAN DO MORE, WHAT'S MORE OFFERED.

    I'VE HAD A COUPLE DIFFERENT MEETINGS WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS OR SEVERAL MONTHS SINCE I WAS HIRED ON IN SEPTEMBER ABOUT ADDING NEW CLASSES.

    THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO THAT IN JANUARY WHEN I DIDN'T HEAR BACK.

    I PUT TOGETHER AN EMAIL FOR SEVERAL OF THE MEMBERS THERE THAT I THOUGHT

    WERE OVER THE PROGRAMS THAT I WANTED TO ADDRESS AND BRING SOME NEW REVENUE INTO THE REC CENTER.

    I FEEL LIKE I JUST KEPT GETTING HANDED OFF TO THE NEXT PERSON AND THIS PERSON WOULD GET IN CHARGE, AND IT NEVER REALLY CAME ABOUT.

    MY GOAL IS TO GENERATE REVENUE IN THE REC CENTER.

    I KNOW THAT THERE'S A HUGE FOCUS ON THE SENIOR COMMUNITY AND I FEEL LIKE THERE IS A BIG GAP FOR 30, 40, 50 YEAR OLDS, FAMILIES, YOUTH THAT WE COULD MARKET TO TO BRING MORE MEMBERS INTO THE REC CENTER AND TO BRING MORE REVENUE WITHIN ANGLETON.

    I WASN'T SURE HOW TO DO ALL THAT.

    I COME FROM ARIZONA WHERE I WAS EITHER A PART OF A GYM.

    I'VE RUN MY OWN BUSINESS FOR 15 YEARS, AND SO I KNOW HOW TO PUT TOGETHER PROGRAMS AND EXECUTE THEM.

    AND HERE, I GUESS IT'S DIFFERENT IN A SMALL TOWN WHERE I HAVE TO ASK THIS PERSON, ASK THIS PERSON, GO TO THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY, GO TO THE CITY MEETING AND IT'S IN A DIFFERENT FORUM.

    JUST WANT TO DO A QUICK RECAP OF WHAT WE HAD IN 2024.

    WE HAD THE GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO PARTNER WITH THE BETTER LIFE INSIGHT FOUNDATION AND RAM, WHICH IS REMOTE AREA MEDICAL, TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE EYE CARE, DENTAL, AND MEDICAL CARE, AND NO CHARGE TO RESIDENTS OF THE COMMUNITY AND ANY INDIVIDUALS THAT WOULD SIGN UP AT NO COST.

    THAT TOOK PLACE AT THE ANGLETON REC CENTER IN OCTOBER OF 2024.

    WE WERE ABLE TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE THAT FREE CARE TO THEM THROUGH THIS PARTNERSHIP.

    WE ARE SEEKING COUNCIL'S APPROVAL TO MOVE FORWARD WITH A 2025 EVENT IN DECEMBER.

    THAT WOULD RUN THE FIRST WEEKEND IN DECEMBER.

    WHAT WE'RE REQUESTING IS THAT TO BE ABLE TO CLOSE THE REC CENTER.

    IN YOUR PACKET, YOU'LL SEE THE DETAILS AS FAR AS THAT CLOSURES GO.

    IT WOULD BE SIMILAR TO WHAT WE HAD LAST YEAR.

    WE HAD LEADERSHIP FROM NOT JUST OF COURSE ANGLETON TO COME, BUT WE HAD LEADERSHIP FROM FREEPORT CITY COUNCIL, FROM COLONY.

    THEIR MAYOR CAME AND SO WE HAD SENT OUT INFORMATION IN THE FLYER TO EVERY MAYOR IN SOUTHERN MISSOURI COUNTY.

    THEY DID SHARE THE INFORMATION WITH FOLKS IN THEIR COMMUNITY AND IN THEIR CITIES THAT WOULD BENEFIT FROM THESE SERVICES.

    WE WERE VERY INTENTIONAL IN THE PARTNERSHIPS THAT WE CREATED WITH THE COMMUNITY HOST GROUP LEADERSHIP TEAM.

    WE HAD THE PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE UNITED WAY.

    I'M A PART OF THAT GROUP, AS WELL AS THE SALVATION ARMY, DIFFERENT GROUPS THAT HAD A TOUCH POINT TO THE PEOPLE WHO WE WERE TRYING TO REACH THAT WANTED TO THAT WE WANTED TO SERVE.

    THOSE LEADERS AND ALL THE SPONSORS THAT YOU'LL SEE, THOSE LEADERS CAME OUT TO THE LEADERSHIP DINNER SO THAT THEY COULD GET A CHANCE TO NOT JUST SEE WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, GET BEHIND THE SCENES, LOOK AT WHAT AFTER THEY HAD GOTTEN IT SET UP, WHAT THE CLINIC WAS GOING TO LOOK LIKE IN THE GYM AND SO FORTH, AND SO ON.

    ONE ORAL SURGEON AND A DENTIST.

    WE HAD A PRETTY GOOD CLINIC TEAM.

    WE STILL NEED TO BUILD MORE OF THAT TEAM, AND I'LL TALK TO YOU ABOUT THAT A LITTLE BIT LATER.

    LOOKS LIKE WE GOT [INAUDIBLE].

    >> ON MY NEIGHBOR DAY, THE BETTER LIFE IN SITE FOUNDATION BROUGHT HOPE AND HEALING TO SOUTHERN BRAZORIA COUNTY WITH A FREE POP UP CLINIC.

    IN PARTNERSHIP WITH REMOTE AREA MEDICAL AND THE CITY OF ANGLETON, WE PROUDLY PROVIDED DENTAL VISION AND MEDICAL CARE TO 210 UNDERSERVED AND UNINSURED RESIDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY.

    THIS CLINIC WASN'T JUST ABOUT HEALTH SERVICES.

    IT WAS A TRUE COMMUNITY EFFORT.

    LOCAL VOLUNTEERS GAVE THEIR TIME, AND GENEROUS SPONSORS PROVIDED THE RESOURCES NEEDED TO MAKE THIS EVENT POSSIBLE.

    THE IMPACT WAS LIFE CHANGING FROM A CHILD SEEING CLEARLY FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH NEW GLASSES, TO PATIENTS RECEIVING ESSENTIAL DENTAL AND MEDICAL CARE.

    THESE MOMENTS OF JOY AND RELIEF REFLECTED THE HEART OF WHAT WE DO, BRINGING CARE AND COMPASSION TO THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST.

    FOR MANY, THIS CLINIC WAS THEIR ONLY ACCESS TO CARE.

    THE GRATITUDE EXPRESSED BY OUR PATIENTS REMINDED US WHY THIS MISSION IS SO IMPORTANT AND WHY WE MUST CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR NEIGHBORS.

    TOGETHER, WE'RE BUILDING A STRONGER, HEALTHIER COMMUNITY, ONE NEIGHBOR, ONE SMILE, AND ONE BETTER LIFE IN SIGHT AT A TIME.

    SO WE HAD SEVERAL CHURCHES OUT OF LAKE JACKSON AND ANGLETON COME AND GIRD US IN PRAYER, SO WE WALKED THE WHOLE FACILITY.

    AND OUR HOPE AND THAT WAS THAT WE WOULD BE SAFE, THE SAFETY ISSUES AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

    EVEN THOUGH WE HAD THE POLICE AT THE READY NEXT DOOR, WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY SAFETY ISSUES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT.

    WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH PEOPLE BEING HURT ON THE FACILITY.

    THE FACILITY WAS LEFT WHOLE AND CLEAN.

    THAT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME, THAT IT WAS LOCKED UP AFTER EVERY NIGHT, THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOOD THAT WE WERE GOOD STEWARDS OF THE VENUE.

    ALL THAT SAID, I'M COMING AGAIN.

    I THINK LAST YEAR, WE SAID OUR HOPE WAS THAT THIS WAS AN ANNUAL EVENT.

    WE COULD BRING THIS TO OUR CITY AND TO OUR COUNTY ON AN ANNUAL BASIS.

    IT TOOK PROBABLY ABOUT TWO MONTHS FROM THE END OF THE CLINIC TO ACTUALLY GET THE AUDIT RESULTS FROM REMOTE AREA MEDICAL, SO THEY AUDIT EVERY CLINIC THAT GOES ON IT.

    THEY DO A DEEP DIVE IN THE CLINIC CARE AND ALL THESE TYPE OF THING.

    WHEN WE GOT THE AUDIT REPORT BACK, I DID SHARE IT WITH THE COMMUNITY HOST GROUP LEADERSHIP TEAM.

    I THINK SOME OF YOU PROBABLY GOT SOME OF THAT DATA, SO YOU COULD SEE ALL THE ZIP CODES OF PATIENTS WHO ACTUALLY GOT A CHANCE TO COME.

    OUR MARKETING WE HAD REALLY GOOD MARKETING LOCALLY, BUT THEN THEY HAVE AN ARM OF NATIONAL MARKETING.

    I WILL SAY WE HAD TWO SURPRISES FOR THIS, AS FAR AS LEADERSHIP.

    THE PRESIDENT AND CEO OF REMOTE AREA MEDICAL CAME TO ANGLETON TEXAS.

    I WAS REALLY PLEASED TO SEE HIM.

    I GOT MET HIM, BUT IT WAS GOOD TO MEET HIM AND HAVE GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT HIS TEAM BECAUSE WE HAD BEEN WORKING WITH THEM FOR MONTHS.

    THE OTHER SURPRISE WAS DURING THE CLINIC BECAUSE OF REMOTE AREA MEDICAL HAS A REACH, AS FAR AS NATIONAL MARKETING, THERE WAS A FRENCH TV TEAM THAT WAS IN THE UNITED STATES, AND THEY WERE, I THINK THEY WERE IN CALIFORNIA.

    THEY HEARD ABOUT THIS CLINIC, AND THEY WERE ONLY AWAY TO TEXAS.

    THEY CAME AND SPENT A DAY AND A HALF.

    THEY GOT PERMISSION FROM REMOTE AREA MEDICAL AND A FAMILY TO FOLLOW THEM THROUGH CARE.

    ANGLETON IS ON THE NATIONAL MAP, NOT JUST WITHIN THE UNITED STATES.

    THEN IF YOU LOOK AT WHERE THE CLINIC TEAM CAME FROM, AS FAR AS THE VOLUNTEER PEOPLE, OH, IT WAS NINE STATES.

    IF YOU SEE THAT ON THIS SIDE OF YOUR THING, IT'LL TELL YOU THE STATES THAT THE VOLUNTEERS CAME FROM, MASSACHUSETTS, MINNESOTA, NEW YORK, NORTH CAROLINA, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, TENNESSEE, AND VIRGINIA.

    THEN WITHIN TEXAS, WE HAD ALMOST 30 CITIES REPRESENTED AND VOLUNTEERS.

    THE HEART OF ANGLETON AND WHAT WE'RE DOING THE EXPOSURE, AND THEN THE OTHER PIECES THAT I WANTED, THAT'S THE CLINIC PART, AND THE EXPOSURE PART.

    BUT I DO WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE ECONOMIC IMPACT.

    IF YOU LOOK AT THOSE PARTICULAR NUMBERS THAT YOU SEE THERE, THERE WAS OVER $75,000 WORTH OF CARE THAT WAS PROVIDED TO CITIZENS THROUGHOUT MISSOURI COUNTY.

    ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I DID SHARE DOING THIS IS THAT YOU WILL HAVE REFERRALS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.

    FORTY FOUR OF THOSE 210 PATIENTS NEEDED FOLLOW UP CARE.

    MY CHN, AND THEY RECEIVED ALL OF THOSE PATIENTS TO DO FURTHER DEEP DIVES, SOME OF THEM NEED ORAL SURGERY.

    MY CHN HAS DENTAL AND THEY HAVE MEDICAL.

    THAT'S WHERE THOSE REFERRALS WENT TO SO THAT WAS WITHIN COMMUNITY.

    THEN FOR VISION, WE HAD 19 PEOPLE WHO NEED SURGERIES, DIFFERENT TYPE OF VISION SURGERIES.

    THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY, THEIR SURGERY CENTER TOOK ALL OF OUR PATIENTS AS A PARTNERSHIP WITH US.

    THAT'S PART OF WHAT WE'RE DOING IS TRYING TO USE OUR CONNECTIONS IN OUR PROFESSIONAL SPACES TO BRING HELP AND HELP, I SHOULD SAY, HELP SUPPORT IN OUR COMMUNITY.

    I JUST WANTED TO SHARE THAT.

    THEN ALSO, OF THAT 210 PATIENTS THAT WE TALK ABOUT ECONOMICS, 88% OF THOSE PATIENTS WERE MISSOURI COUNTY.

    I KNOW THERE WAS PROBABLY SOME TALK OF WE TALKED ABOUT THE 75 THAT WAS ANGLETON, BUT 88% OF THAT 210 PATIENTS THEY WERE MISSOURI COUNTY.

    ONLY 12% WERE OTHER PLACES, BECAUSE WE HAD SOME PEOPLE COME ALL THE WAY I THINK FROM DALLAS OR SOMEWHERE THAT THEY HEARD ABOUT AND THEY NEEDED WHATEVER, AND THEY SHOWED UP.

    THESE PEOPLE ARE SHOPPING WHILE THEY'RE HERE.

    WE PUT UP THIS CLINIC TEAM FOR FOUR DAYS AT LA QUINTA, SO THAT'S FOUR NIGHTS OF HOTEL HOT TAX DOLLARS.

    I JUST WANT TO HIT THAT ON THE ECONOMIC BENEFIT TO THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS THE GREAT EXPOSURE THAT YOU ALL HAVE.

    I THINK THAT'S ALL REALLY I WANT TO SAY.

    OBVIOUSLY, I THINK IT'S A GOOD THING.

    WE DO WANT TO DO IT ANNUALLY.
