UM, THE BACKER TRUCK, UM, VERY IMPORTANT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.
IT'S USED TO, UH, UH, JET ROD, ALL OF OUR SEWER LINES.
WE VACUUM OUT MANHOLES AND REALLY JUST MAINTAIN OUR CURRENT EXISTING SEWER SYSTEM WITH IT.
UM, AND BRAND NEW ONE COSTS ANYWHERE FROM 550 TO $600,000.
THAT'S FUND OH THREE, THAT'S THE UTILITY FUND.
UM, TO DATE PUBLIC WORKS HAS SPENT 168,000 ON REPAIRS IN THE, IN THE EXISTENCE OF THIS MACHINE.
EVERYTHING THAT WE COULD DIG UP.
UM, AND THE THING, THE THING ABOUT IT IS THEY'RE GETTING MORE EXPENSIVE.
OUR MOST RECENT TWO REPAIRS WERE TWO OF THE HIGHEST COSTS AT 15,000 AND 18,000.
AND, UH, SOMETHING THAT, UH, INFORMATION THAT I JUST GOT AFTER I'D PUT THIS TOGETHER IS THAT WE HAVE A COST LOOMING ON US OF AROUND 50 K TO REPLACE A BLOWER MOTOR ON IT.
THE VECTOR TRUCK HAS NOW BEEN OUT FOR, UH, 30 DAYS AT THIS POINT AS OF TODAY.
UM, AND THAT'S 40, $50,000 TO REPLACE A BLOWER MOTOR.
THE WHOLE BLOWER MOTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
AND THE REASON WHY IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IS BECAUSE THE TANK IS STARTING TO, UH, TO SCALE OFF.
AND THAT HAS GOTTEN INTO THAT BLOWER MOTOR AND DAMAGED IT.
SO EVEN IF WE SPEND THE 50 K TO GET THIS, UH, VECTOR TRUCK GOING BACK, WE'RE STILL AT A POINT WHERE WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO REPLACE THAT TANK.
EITHER THEY MAY RECOMMEND, RECOMMEND US TO REPLACE IT NOW OR, OR IN THE NEAR FUTURE, WHICH THAT'S A COST THAT I DON'T HAVE AS OF YET.
SO WHAT'S THE COMMON LIFESPAN OF A VECTOR TRUCK? UH, WHAT WE SAW WAS ANYWHERE FROM 12 TO 15 YEARS.

AND, UH, YOU KNOW, THESE, UH, THESE COMPANIES THAT ARE SELLING THESE VECTOR TRUCKS, LIKE, UH, ONE SPECIFICALLY THAT WE JUST, UH, LOOKED AT RECENTLY, UH, IT'S, IT'S A, IT'S A PURCHASE TO LEASE OPTION.
UM, YOU KNOW, LIKE IT, IT HAS AN EXAMPLE HERE OF A, YOU KNOW, $9,000 A MONTH WITH AN OPTION TO PURCHASE FOR, UH, $293,000 AT THE END OF IT, WHICH I BELIEVE THAT PUT THE COST AROUND 750 OR 800,000 IF I REMEMBER CORRECT, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY MORE THAN BUYING IT BRAND NEW.
BUT DURING THE TIME YOU'RE UNDER THIS PROGRAM, UM, ALL THE MAINTENANCE IS COVERED.
EVERYTHING, EVEN IF YOU, EVEN IF YOU GET A HOLE IN A TIRE, THEY'RE GONNA REPLACE IT FOR YOU.
SO AT LEAST IT'S A, SOMETHING EASY TO BUDGET FOR AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BUDGETING FOR MAINTENANCE ON IT.
THEN ALSO, IF IT'S DOWN, IF IT'S AN ISSUE THAT WHERE IT'S GONNA BE DOWN MORE THAN FIVE DAYS, THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH A LOANER AS WELL.
